Focusing on new-quality productive forces and deepening practical cooperation, respectively, the events will pool global resources in agricultural science and technology, industry and trade, and inject China's agricultural strengths into building a close-knit SCO agricultural cooperation community by leveraging the high-caliber platform for international agricultural cooperation.
This year's edition features six major highlights. It will display the world's most cutting-edge agricultural scientific and technological achievements.
For the first time, a standalone pavilion will be set aside for the SCO Agricultural Expo. A total of 85 domestic enterprises will be organized to explore markets in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries.
Organizers will optimize the exhibition system covering indoor displays, on-farm demonstrations, online shows and overseas exhibitions to boost its professionalism.
The "Yangling Agricultural Innovation Hub" will be launched in partnership with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It functions as an authoritative release platform focused on technology transfer and commercialization.
Livestream-driven agricultural promotion for 100 Chinese counties' local specialty agricultural products will be carried out on JD.com, Douyin and other online platforms. It builds a one-stop platform connecting agricultural producers and buyers. Priority will also be given to translating platform advantages into concrete development outcomes.
Launched in 1994, the China Yangling Agricultural Hi-Tech Fair has completed 32 consecutive sessions. Hailed as the "Olympics of agriculture," it is a vital window for China's agricultural opening-up and a core platform to foster agricultural new-quality productive forces.
Up to now, the fair has drawn participants from more than 80 countries and regions. Over 30,000 agriculture-related enterprises, research and educational institutions have taken part. More than 35 million traders and visitors have attended, with over 200,000 projects and products on exhibition.
Held alongside the hi-tech fair, the SCO Agricultural Expo is the first multilateral agricultural exhibition under the Shanghai Cooperation Organization framework.
Since its launch in 2022, the expo has expanded in scale and raised its profile year by year. SCO member states sent delegations to both the 2024 and 2025 events.
Featuring exhibitions, conferences, training and business matchmaking, the expo advances mutually beneficial trade and technical exchanges. It has grown into an international platform integrating technology sharing, outcome displays, trade cooperation and industrial capacity docking.
The upcoming events comprise two key segments: domestic exhibitions and overseas exhibitions.
Domestic zones cover SCO member-states' agricultural displays, cutting-edge agricultural hi-tech showcases, international agricultural cooperation exhibitions, and cross-border commodity experience areas.
Overseas exhibitions will be hosted at the Tashkent Trade Center in Uzbekistan and the China-Kyrgyzstan Apple Demonstration Orchard in Kyrgyzstan. This creates a coordinated domestic-overseas event layout.
This dual-track "home venue plus overseas outreach" model breaks barriers of time and geography, going beyond short-term on-site displays in Yangling.
At the home venue, global participants gather for achievement showcases, business talks and technical seminars. Overseas roadshows help export fine crop varieties, planting skills and smart farming machinery, coupled with hands-on training. Such measures make advanced agricultural technologies tangible and support local implementation.
The model expands the SCO Agricultural Expo's brand influence across Eurasia. It also opens pathways for cross-border technology transfer, on-site talent training and practical industrial matchmaking. It helps shift SCO-related agricultural cooperation from short-term event exchanges toward long-term industrial collaboration.
From Yangling, agricultural technologies are spreading to wider farmlands along the Belt and Road Initiative. More than a gathering of global agricultural innovations, the twin events serve as a bridge linking Chinese and foreign agriculture, as well as connecting science-technology with industries.
Yangling will keep broadening agricultural opening-up. It will support more scientific outcomes to take root in SCO member states and turn more consensus into tangible development progress, according to the local government.
